I don't anticipate reaching the notoriety of these authors but here are a few of my personal recommendations (I'll add more as time goes by).

The Holy Bible. I most frequently use the New International Version (NIV) and the New Living Translation (NLT), but for teaching and study purposes have pulled up others. Bible Gateway you can read dozens and decide which you wish to purchase in hard copy and mark up. https://www.biblegateway.com/

In no particular order and depending on your areas of interest:

The Chronicles of Narnia - C.S. Lewis

The Singer, The Song & the Finale (poetic trilogy) - Calvin Miller

Valiant Papers - Calvin Miller

For study:

A Celebration of Discipline - Richard Foster

A Body of Divinity - Thomas Watson.

History:

D-Day - Stephen Ambrose

Unbroken - Laura Hillenbrand

The Twentieth Maine - John J. Pullen

Mental stability:

Any of the Calvin & Hobbs series - Bill Watterson

The works of Shel Silverstein
